tony horton here—i am your fitness guy on tony horton fitness on youtube,and you know that because you love the push ups,the pull ups, the sit ups, the crunches, the back flips, all of it.i love it too. it's all about—ooh—moving the bodyso you can stay young forever. but guess what you've got to doin conjunction with the fitness? the food and the fitness come together,because if you exercise a lot and you don't eat well,then you're kind of wasting your time. we have a topic today,and it's protein.


you cannot consume more than40 grams of protein per meal. you just can't do it—it's too many. what's going to happenis you're going to pee it out. and so don't wasteyour time and money. so what do i do? well, i'll tell you what i do—i take my bioavailable proteins when i get up in the morningand i try to have eggs. i have three, or four, or five, or six eggs—yeah, that's right. and i also need my seven servingsof vegetables a day. seven—so i put peppers and onionsand tomatoes, spinach, and basil,


and i—oh—i just jam packthat egg-loaded, beautiful omelette. sometimes i do egg whites,sometimes i do yolks, too. i don't make a whole religious cultabout it—i just eat them. now lunch, same thing, right? i have my chicken,or i'll have a little buffalo, or maybe i'll have some bison stew,and again, you want to get those vegetables, and if you're a vegan, you've gotto find a way to combine those proper, whole, high-fiber carbswith those proteins— those nuts and those beansand the legumes and the quinoa.


and at dinner, same thing. i like a big old pieceof wild salmon, but then again, mmm—there's that bison. so yummy—that buffalo,so yummy. that free-range chicken—you can go online and see all kinds of informationabout the kind of protein you need based on the philosophy you haveabout eating your food, whether you're vegan or paleo,it's all good. this is tony hortonfrom tony horton fitness.
